me in front of the alabama state capital

I am a second year MSLS candidate at the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My expected date of graduation is May, 2009.

Before coming to Chapel Hill, I completed a BA in Literature, with a minor in Women's Studies, at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

My research pursuits at SILS include:

  • GLBTQ libraries and cultural institutions
  • collective memory and identity formation
  • applications of social software/web 2.0 in ILS
  • archives and special collections

Ultimately, I hope to find a job where I can unite my passion about gender and GLBTQ issues and fascination with new technologies to promote more effective and egalitarian access to information.

In my spare time, I enjoy shopping for old things and eating North Carolina barbecue.
